Description of the document: One sheet of letter paper, with four pages of 16 lines each. The last page is blank. At the top of fol. 1 the word FÁTIMA appears written in a different hand and ink. The underlining of the date was also done in a different ink.
Descrição do documento: Uma folha de papel de carta, com quatro páginas, de 16 linhas cada uma. A última página está em branco. Ao cimo da fl. 1 aparece escrito, com caligrafia e tinta diferentes, a palavra FÁTIMA. Também o sublinhado da data foi feito com tinta diferente.

My Most Excellent Friend
Minha Exma Amiga
I thank you with all my heart for your kind letter, which I have not yet answered for lack of health, though fortunately today I already feel much better.
Agradeço do coração a sua amavel carta, a que não respondi ainda por falta de saude, do que felismente hoje já me sinto muito melhor.
I was truly embarrassed by my Friend's expressions; the reception we gave you was so simple and modest; it was not worth my Friend's while to mention such a thing.
Fiquei realmente confundida com as expreções da minha Amiga; foi tão simples e modesta a recepção que lhes fizemos; não merecia a pena a minha Amiga fallar em tal cousa.
[2] What happened on the 13th of October was truly marvellous; it was a great prodigy, the Most Holy Virgin wishing to demonstrate her power! I am more and more glad to have gone there — here in Torres Novas at the same hour something also manifested itself in the sun, but from the description they give me it cannot be compared...
[2] O que se passou no dia 13 de Outubro, foi realmente maravilhoso, foi um grande prodigio a Ssma Virgem querer demonstrar o seu puder! Cada vez estou mais satisfeita em ter lá ido — aqui em Torres Novas á mesma hora tambem se manesfestou no sol qualquer cousa, mas pela discipção que me fazem não se pode cumparar...
Here too we learned of what they did in Santarem, but unfortunately [4] the justice of this earth does not find them criminals.
Tambem aqui tivemos conhecimento do que fizeram em Santarem, mas infelizmente [4] a justiça da terra não os acha criminosos.
My sister and niece thank my Friend for her kind remembrances and return them.
Minha irmã e sobrinha agradecem as lembranças da minha Amiga e retribuem.
