With a conclusion of its own, the newspaper "O Mensageiro" reproduces in full the interview with the astronomer Frederico Oom on the events of 13 October, already published in the newspaper "Diário Nacional".
Com uma conclusão própria, o jornal “O Mensageiro” reproduz, na íntegra, a entrevista com o astrónomo Frederico Oom sobre os acontecimentos do dia 13 de Outubro, já publicada no jornal “Diário Nacional”.

AS APARIÇÕES DE FÁTIMA
From our illustrious colleague the Diário Nacional we reproduce the following:
Do nosso illustre collega o Diário Nacional recortamos o que segue:
THE FÁTIMA AFFAIR. — Questioned [...] to give the faithful food for thought".
O CASO DE FÁTIMA. — Interrogado [...] a dar que pensar aos fieis”.
This disposes of the two unfortunate articles that the distinguished lawyer Dr. Domingos Pinto Coelho (A. de F.) published in the Lisbon Ordem on the Fátima affair, and which made so disagreeable an impression in Catholic circles. Dr. Pinto Coelho asserts that on the following day he saw (at Cascaes*) the same phenomenon that 50,000 people witnessed amid the greatest emotion in the hills of Fátima. But it is odd that only the illustrious lawyer should see the phenomenon again (he says it is natural), contradicting the astronomer Oom, who denies that it is natural, and that nobody else there noticed this sensational event.
D’este modo ficam inutilisados os dois infelizes artigos que, na Ordem, de Lisboa, publicou o distincto advogado dr. Domingos Pinto Coelho (A. de F.) sobre o caso da Fátima e tão desagradavel impressão produziram nos meios catholicos. O dr. Pinto Coelho affirma que no dia seguinte viu (em Cascaes) o mesmo phenomeno que presencearam 50 mil pessôas na serra de Fátima, em meio da maior emoção. Mas é singular que só o illustre advogado de novo visse a repetição do phenomeno (que diz natural) em contradição com o astronomo Oom, que nega que seja elle natural, e mais ninguem alli désse pelo sensacional acontecimento.

O que é ter olhos de lynce... que ás vezes vêm o contrario de toda a gente... Valha-nos Deus com tanto prurido de superioridade e independencia.
