The carting out of the muck3 was finished; the same Joaquim Mestre and José Ferreiro were working here that day. Day wages: 1000*. At noon they went to saw up logs in the valley. That day I had a headache and vomiting all day long, so that I could not do anything. That day many people went from here to Fátima to see the miracle of the apparition of Our Lady, but nobody saw anything; and at nig[h]t, on the way home, over at Calçadas, in a brawl, Bernardino da Freiria was knifed, and so was the son of the Ferreiro* of Martinel4.
Acabou-se a tiragem do contivo3; andaram cá n'esse dia os mesmos Joaquim Mestre e o José Ferreiro. Jornas 1000; ao meio dia foram abrir madeiros para o val, e eu n'esse dia estive todo o dia com dor de cabeça e vómitos, que não pude fazer nada. N'esse dia foi d'aqui muita gente á Fatima, para ver o milagre da aparição de N. Senhora, mas ninguem vio nada; e á no[i]te ao recolher ali ás Calçadas em uma dezordem derão uma facada no Bernardino da Freiria, e outra no filho do Ferreiro da Martinel4.
