One, collected by Dr. Joaquín María Alonso (B2a-2), has on the back a manuscript by Dr. Manuel dos Santos Canastreiro: “J.M.J. (1 Fátima-13 October 1917. From Benedicta, where I was serving as parish priest, I went to Fátima by carriage, in the company of Fr. Joaquim Antonio do Carmo, his uncle Antonio d’Almeida, and cousins Isabel and Elvira. We left on the 12th at 10 a.m., and reached Batalha at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon. We visited the Monastery. There we already found parishioners of mine, and after our arrival others came. Perhaps a hundred and something of them were there at night. At the inn I made the acquaintance of the Most Excellent Canon Balthasar and his nieces. I slept in a room in which Mr Claudio Ribeiro and Joaquim Paulo, of Turquel, were also quartered”. The text was presumably continued on other prints, of which this was the first of the series.
Another copy, in the archive of the Sanctuary (B2a-3), has on the back the handwritten text: “Pombal 2 Dezenbro [sic] 1917 - Manoel Rodrigues”.
Finally, another copy, also in the archive of the Sanctuary (B2a-4), has the following handwritten text: “ Astounding and marvellous indisputable miracle which I had the great grace of witnessing on 13 October 1917! This miracle was repeated from 13 May 917 for 6 months, on the 13th of each: reaching, however [sic], its greatest splendour before 50,000 people who witnessed it on the day indicated by the Seers! Capitolina Rino”.
Capitolina Rino”.
