Those who witnessed that of the 13th of September say that between 12 and 1, old time (solar time), on a most beautiful day of burning sun, the temperature had suddenly dropped, and a small eclipse took place in that heavenly body. There were people who said they had seen pink clouds here and there. Not everyone believed them

Quem presenciou o de 13 de setembro diz que das 12 para a 1, hora antiga, estando um dia formosissimo de sol ardente, a temperatura havia de repente baixado, dando-se um pequeno eclipse n'aquelle astro. Havia pessoas que diziam ter visto nuvens côr de rosa aqui e ali. Nem de todos eram acreditadas

4 This must refer to one of the prints distributed at the Cova da Iria on 13 October 1917, like those we describe in Doc. 51, of a. 13 October 1917. It should be noted that one of these same prints was taken by Capitolina Guimarães Rino, with whom the author of this letter must have travelled that day (cf. note 5 of this document and Doc. 51, note 5).
