As told by Manuel Pedro Marto (father of Francisco and Jacinta), sworn deposition to the canonical commission (Dr. Manuel Nunes Formigão, relator)
English

He heard Jacinta shout that they should not crush her. Lúcia said: “She's here!” The people asserted that they saw colours in the sun and in the sky. The sun did not hurt the eyes at all. He heard no voice. He heard it said, either by Lúcia or by other people, that Our Lady wanted Our Lord not to be offended any more, since He was very much offended, and that the war was going to end.

O povo afirmava ver cores no sol e no céu.
