On 13 September I saw a cross of great size come out of the sun and head towards the east. It did not move very fast. Sometimes it appeared, at other times it vanished, until it leapt out of sight. I also saw other things that I cannot explain. In the parish of Lapas there were people who, at the same hour, saw the cross".

No dia 13 de Setembro vi uma cruz de grande tamanho sahir do sol e dirigir-se para a banda do nascente. A sua marcha não era muito apressada. Umas vezes apparecia, outras vezes sumia-se, até que saltou fóra da vista. Vi ainda outras cousas que não sou capaz de explicar. Na freguezia das Lapas houve pessoas que, á mesma hora, viram a cruz”.
