A man of the people comes up to me and tells me in broad outline the interesting story of his cure. His name is António de Oliveira Dias; he is 58 years old and lives in the hamlet of Carrascos, parish of Paço, council of Torres Novas. For twelve years he had been suffering from chronic pharyngitis, resistant to all treatment. The doctors were of the opinion that he would never be radically cured. On the thirteenth of October 1917 he had come to Fátima and witnessed the stupendous solar phenomenon.
