What was it the Lady said in June?

– She said we were to keep going to the Cova da Iria and that we were to learn to read.

42nd – Did she say anything else?

– A son of Manuel Carreira, from Moita, was there, a poor boy crippled in his legs and back6. I asked the Lady whether she would cure him, and she said he would be cured within a year. His back has already got better little by little. I also asked the Lady if she would kindly convert a woman from Moita, and she said she would convert her within a year7.

43rd – What else did the Lady say?

– I don't remember anything else.

Editor's notes (2)

6 João Carreira. Son of Manuel Carreira and of Maria Carreira or Maria dos Santos (Maria da Capelinha). He was born on 26 March 1901, at Moita. He was the guardian of the Chapel of the Apparitions. He died at the Shrine of Fátima on 6 April 1975.

7 It should be noted that these requests by Lúcia, said here to have been made in June, are placed in July in the first interrogations by the parish priest of Fátima. Moreover, here “a woman from Moita” is mentioned, whereas those interrogations speak of “a woman from Fátima”.
