On Saint Anthony's day (13 June). On this day there was a feast at Fátima which Lúcia's mother (and I do not know whether Francisco's and Jacinta's too) wanted them to attend, but in obedience to what she had recommended to them the month before, they left the feast to go to the place of the apparition, where they met some people unknown to them and only some 3 or 4 they knew. At more or less the same hour as the month before, the same vision appears to them in the same way, and this time she told them to keep going there in the following months; to learn to read; and she told them a secret, which she forbade them to reveal to anyone whatsoever. – Some days later, being near the place of the apparition with their flock, the three of them thought of going to pray the rosary at the place of the apparition, but for that it was necessary either to leave the flock, with the risk of its going and damaging the nearby crops, or for at least one of them to stay on guard and not go to pray the rosary; they decided all to go and pray the rosary and leave the flock, which immediately went into a field of maize, cabbages, chickling peas and other vegetables. A woman who was nearby, seeing the sheep in that field, calls the shepherds, who did not answer her, so she herself went to turn the sheep, which, as soon as she turned her back, immediately went back there. The rosary over, the three went to their flock, to turn it from the place where it was and see the damage it had done, but great was their amazement when they saw that nothing had been damaged, which was confirmed by the owner himself, who, being told that the flock had been in his field, went the next day to see the damage there, and found that no damage at all had been done to him.
