Almost every month after May José Alves went there on the thirteenth and saw nothing; he only heard others say that they saw things in the sky. He did not hear the loud bang in August. He often heard it said that a little smoke appeared.

Quase todos os meses José Alves foi lá no dia treze depois de maio e não viu nada, só ouvia dizer aos outros que viam coisas no céu. Não ouviu o estrondo em agosto. Ouvia dizer muitas vezes que aparecia um fumozinho.
