But by then Francisco and Jacinta were already coming back home, saying that Our Lady had appeared again, but that João had not seen her.

Sometimes the mother [3v] would say to him and to the little girl: You are lying! Our Lady did not appear to you. You are the one who is lying. But I never saw Our Lady. You don't see her because you don't want to, because you are very bad, a great liar.

Ás vezes a mãe [3v] dizia-lhe e á pequena: Vocês mentem! Na Sa não lhes appareceu. Você é que mente. Mas eu nunca vi N. Sa. Você não vê porque não quer, porque é muito ruim, muito mentirosa.
